**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has responded to a bomb threat received by a local recreational vehicle retailer on Airport Road in Timmins earlier this afternoon.

The building has been evacuated for safety reasons.

A comprehensive search of the building and immediate area surrounding the property is currently underway and coordinated by the Timmins Police Service.

Timmins Fire Department personnel were on site as a preventative measure as well.

Airport Road remains open at this time but may be closed if it is deemed necessary to do so and based on a re-assessment of the threat level.

At this point, there is no active threat to public safety.

An investigation into the threat received is being coordinated by the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division.

UPDATE: The Timmins Police have since confirmed that the incident yesterday in Timmins was part of a larger bomb threat campaign that affected other communities.
