Players, coaches and supporters of the Timmins Rock NOJHL were at City Hall today, celebrating the start of the new hockey season. To make the celebrations official, Mayor Steve Black declared today, September 7th, 2018, Timmins Rock Day. The Rock flag was also raised outside City Hall.

This Saturday, Sept. 8th is the home opener game for the Rock; they face the French River Rapids.

Before the game at 7 PM, there will be a big tailgate party at the Mac, where hockey fans can enjoy food, music, games and more.

Kids are welcome too; there will be a kid’s bouncy castle, 9 hole mini putt golf course, and a dunk tank.

Music by Patrick Lauzon, Rosedale and Kyle Cote will be featured.

The tailgate party is free and starts at 3 PM before the game.

The Timmins Rock season opener against the French River Rapids starts at 7 PM at the McIntyre Arena.
