The Timmins Police Service responded to a two separate collisions on Algonquin Blvd East on Monday, July 25th and in both incidents Highway Traffic Act charges were laid against the respective drivers.

Timmins Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Algonquin East and Elm Street South at approximately 12:14 p.m.

Neither driver sustained injury requiring medical treatment.

The collision involved a 2006 Honda passenger vehicle and a 2003 Jeep SUV, and a tow truck was required to remove one of the vehicles that had sustained considerable damage.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year old female resident of Timmins was charged with Fail To Yield to Traffic on Through Highway contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Additionally, Timmins Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Algonquin East and Balsam Street South at approximately 4:50 p.m.

Neither driver sustained injury requiring medical treatment.

The collision involved a 1996 GMC pickup truck and a 2012 Ford passenger vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, a 20 year old male from Foleyet was charged with Left Turn – Fail to Afford Reasonable Opportunity to Avoid Collision contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The Timmins Police Service reminds all motorists that driving is a privilege and that your full attention is required while behind the wheel. The fact remains that if you avoid distractions and you will avoid being in a collision.
