**OPP NEWS RELEASE**

(MOOSONEE, ON) – On Thursday March 22, 2018 at approximately 12:11 p.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from Moosonee Detachment and the James Bay Crime Unit responded to an assault that had occurred moments earlier on Bay Road in Moosonee, Ontario.

As a result of this investigation, a 15 year old male from Moosonee, Ontario  has been arrested and charged with:

• Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).

The accused is not being identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). He was released from custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Moosonee, Ontario on the 10, April, 2018.

Police are continuing their investigation and are requesting that if the public has any information about this crime that they contact the Moosonee OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122. 

Should they wish to remain anonymous, they may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where they may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
