Drugs and weapons charges were laid on a 54-year old Timmins resident, while an assault has led to a pair of charges for a 25-year old local.

First up, 54-year old Mirka St. Louis faces four counts after a search warrant was executed on a local residence back on January 11th.

Police say they recovered “206 Methamphetamine tablets, approximately 29 grams of Cannabis-Marijuana, approximately 1 gram of Cocaine, a Cannabis-Marijuana food item, a firearm, ammunition, and other drug paraphernalia.”

The estimated street value of the drugs is around $2,060.

St. Louis is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a Schedule I substance and careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device of ammunition.

St. Louis was released on a promise to appear, and is due back in court February 20th.

ASSAULT
Meantime, police have charged 25-year old Bryan Tomagatick with assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation.

This stems from an alleged altercation, where police say Tomagatick struck a 33-year old victim in the midst of a verbal altercation.

The unidentified victim suffered injuries and required medical treatment.

During investigation, police learned the accused was bound by a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing that was scheduled for Wednesday morning. No word on the result.
