The music scene is thriving in the City with the Heart of Gold, and Tourism Timmins is issueing a public call to musicians interested in performing this summer.

The City of Timmins, James Toyota, la Caisse Populaire and Tim Hortons are proud to present the 9th Annual Summer Concert Series, and the 4th Annual for Bannerman Park in Porcupine. This year, the Wednesday evening Summer Concert Series will once again be staged from the beautiful and scenic Schumacher Lion’s McIntyre Park. DJ Taz will be back once again and will be working alongside Tourism Timmins to provide a high energy show each and every week of the Summer Concert Series.

“With the ongoing Hollinger Park remediation work, and based on last year’s success of hosting the Summer Concert Series from the Schumacher Lion’s McIntyre Park, we will once again stage the 10-week Wednesday evening production from the Goldcorp Pavillion at the beautiful and scenic Schumacher Lion’s McIntyre Park,” said Manager of Tourism and Events Guy Lamarche.

“Members of the Lion’s Club put in countless hours maintaining and beautifying this park, which we feel is under-utilized. We hope to create better awareness of this gem in our community, which features a newly-constructed pavilion and ample parking.”

“DJ Taz is excited to be working alongside Tourism Timmins to continue the tradition of providing residents and visitors with quality, live music every week. This longstanding tradition is appreciated by the thousands of residents who support the program each and every year and by our many talented artists who get to share their passion with the many in attendance each week. To be a part of this exciting tradition is like a dream come true,” said Peter Lawryniw of DJ Taz.
