Timmins_Police_Service_logo_updThe evening of November 10, 2015, was a busy one for platoon officers from the Timmins Police Service. Within an hour, police responded to two separate incidents which resulted in charges being laid against six individuals.

At approximately 10:40 p.m., police received a report of individuals in the area of Algonquin Blvd. and Spruce St. N. who were possibly in possession of a weapon. Police quickly attended the area and located two individuals. Further investigation revealed that the individuals were in possession of a pellet gun, as well as a concealed edged weapon.

Investigation also revealed that both individuals had previous orders prohibiting them from being in the possession of any firearm, cross-bow, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon, and prohibited device.

As a result of this incident, Gregory REDBREAST, 33, of Timmins was charged with Carrying a concealed weapon, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order (x4), Breach of probation (x2), and Possession of a Schedule I substance (Methamphetamine.)

Wayne BRISCOE, 33, of Chapleau, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon (x2), Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order (x3), and Possession of a Schedule II substance (Marihuana).

Shortly following the above call for service, at approximately 11:10 p.m., officers were involved in a separate incident involving four individuals. While attempting to affect an arrest on one individual for breach of recognizance, police were confronted by three additional individuals who began to act aggressively toward officers on scene. Officers gained control of the individuals and placed them under arrest.

Bobby WESLEY, 25, of Timmins was charged with Breach of probation, Breach of undertaking, Breach of recognizance X2, Cause disturbance, and Assault peace officer.

Joshua NAKOGEE, 19, of Timmins was charged with Assault peace officer, Obstruct peace officer, Resist peace officer, Cause disturbance, and Breach of probation.

Lawrence NAKOGEE, 24, of Timmins was charged with Obstruct peace officer, Breach of probation (x2), and Cause disturbance.

Andrew WILLIAMS, 22, of Timmins was charged with Breach of undertaking, Cause disturbance, Obstruct peace officer and Assault peace officer.

All individuals were held in custody pending their respective bail hearings.
