Two people have been charged with impaired driving in two separate incidents in the region.

Last Thursday morning just after midnight, South Porcupine OPP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 101 east of Foleyet.

After noting signs of impairment and investigation, 54-year old Paul Martin of Timmins was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

Meantime, a traffic stop on Highway 144 in Gouin Township is leading to charges.

On Sunday evening (around 5:08pm), OPP responded to a traffic complaint and as a result of the investigation, 26-year old Brandon Christopher of Kapuskasing was also charged with Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

Christopher was also charged with Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed.

Both are scheduled to appear in a Timmins courtroom on October 31st.
