wawrzaszekOne city councillor is looking to bring light to a dark area of town.

Walter Wawrzaszek says the section of Algonquin between Timmins and South Porcupine (more specifically Rea Hill to the Bruce Y) have no lights whatsoever.  He says it creates a hazard when you factor in the wildlife in the area.

At night, drivers are sometimes seen using fog lights just to navigate the stretch.

Councillor Mike Doody voiced his support, and council voted to have city staff prepare a report into the costing of putting up lights along the road.

That same stretch of Connecting Link is up for construction later this summer.
