Several charges are on the way after a collision near Hollinger Park, involving a recycling truck.

Timmins Police say Tuesday evening around 5:15pm, the investigation showed that a recycling truck transporting a C-Can containing metal recyclables tried turning southbound onto Brunette from Algonquin.

However, the C-Can was unsecured and became dislodged. The C-Can fell off the truck and spilled metal debris onto the roadway.

Brunette Road was closed temporarily for clean up efforts. And as the collision affected hydro services, fire and hydro officials had to attend.

No injuries, but the recycling truck driver was charged with “several Highway Traffic Act offenses, including Driving with Insecure Load.”

As well, several other drivers were charged for driving on the closed roadway.

Police remind drivers that road closures are “put in place for various reasons, including police investigations and public safety” and to obey closures when they come into effect.

The collision itself remains under investigation.
