The city is closing up Pine Street South this weekend due to an emergency culvert replacement.

It will begin two kilometres south of Iroquois Road, effectively closing and preventing access to the Deloro Landfill on the Saturday and Sunday.

The closure starts Friday, June 9th at 6:00pm and extends to Monday, June 12 at 6:00am.

The landfill will resume regular operating hours on Monday, June 12.

“It has been discovered that the existing culverts were extremely under-sized and two new 1.4 m diameter culverts are required for this crossing,” the city says in a release, “Unfortunately, do to the scope of the work involved, a two-day closure is required.”

However, a detour will be in place via Price and Dalton Road—see map below—and the city is working with first responders on a plan in case of an emergency.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact the city’s Public Works department at 705-360-2646.
