It’s a Family Day weekend, and while it isn’t considered a stat holiday in Ontario, holiday hours are in effect.

All retail outlets like the Timmins Square, the Beer Store and LCBO are closed and Timmins Transit isn’t running either. As well, garbage and recycling pick up is pushed from Monday to Tuesday.

As for activities, the weekend is once again providing a full schedule of events sure to please the young and young at heart.

“Our community is fortunate to have many public and private organizations and volunteers who are hosting a myriad of events on February 17, 18, 19 and 20,” said Marnie Lapierre, Coordinator of Festivals, Events and Special Projects for the Tourism department.

“We encourage our residents and visitors to venture out and enjoy this holiday with friends and family.”
