Timmins_Police_Service_logo_updTimmins Police officers have laid over 50 charges following an investigation into a number of thefts from local businesses.

On Thursday, February 26, 2015, two individuals were arrested after attempting to sell stolen merchandise to an undercover Timmins Police officer. The merchandise had been advertised on an online buy and sell forum.

Follow-up investigation revealed that on multiple occasions, merchandise including electronics, clothing, and sporting goods was stolen from various local retailers and subsequently sold. Several stolen items were recovered by police.

Stephane BEDARD, 27, of Timmins faces various charges including theft, possession of property obtained by crime, breach of probation, possession of property for the purpose of trafficking, mischief, resist peace officer, trafficking in property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.

Gabrielle KIOKE, 30, of Timmins, faces various charges including theft, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of property for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in property obtained by crime, and breach of probation.

Both were held pending a bail hearing scheduled for March 2, 2015.
