It looks as if that slowly-moving hotel development on Airport Road will finally have some path drawn out.

And part of it is making city council think.

The hotel is expected to open in spring 2017, with a Tim Horton’s set to open on the same property soon before but the intersection of Airport and Westmount is supposed to have traffic lights installed.

The lights won’t be ready until at least June, so there’s a five month period that council has to figure out what is best to have in the interim.

Beforehand, an agreement made read that nothing would open until the intersection was ready.

You can read the full report from Monday’s meeting HERE.

Some have indicated that painting crosswalk lines across Airport would be best, much like what they have just south of the intersection where students of Timmins High would cross.

Others have proposed a four-way stop, to make sure vehicles are stopping for pedestrians that will no doubt utilize the first full Tim Horton’s location in the Melrose area.

The full presentation is HERE, under Item 4B.  This will come back at a future meeting.
