AIRPORT ROAD BREAK IN

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a residential break-in which occurred on the evening of Thursday October 13th at an Airport Road residence.

The suspect is alleged to have gained entry into the home by means of an unlocked side door of the house.

The owner of the house came upon the suspect in the kitchen area of the home. The suspect fled on foot.

The Timmins Police responded to the area immediately and located the suspect a short while later.

Adam PORTER, 38, of Timmins, has been arrested and charged with one count of Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The suspect remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

 

WILSON AVENUE BREAK IN

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a break-in to a local Wilson Street business which occurred in February of this year.

The suspect is alleged to have gained entry into the business and made off with more than $5000 in stolen property.

The suspect was apprehended by officers with the Matheson OPP and turned him over to the Timmins Police Service yesterday evening.

Cody VANALSTYNE, 22, of Timmins, has been arrested and charged with:

  • One count of Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Possession of Break-in Instruments contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Use Disguise With Intent to Commit Indictable Offence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The suspect remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
