There’s going to be some more hockey played in Timmins on Rogers Hometown Hockey weekend.

A lot more.

The Timmins and District Hospital is hosting their 5th annual Rotary Faceoff for Funds event November 25-27 at the McIntyre Arena, with all the proceeds to benefit TDH’s emergency room renovations.

The committee is looking to raise $100,000 for the cause, adding they are around $1.5-million dollars away from their final fundraising goal for ER project.

The event got a kick start frrom the Rotary Club, a donation of $10,000.

Friday will start with the NHL Alumni game, hosted by the Special Olympics and will immediately be followed by the first game of the TDH fundraiser.

On top of the hockey, the committee is hosting a Friday Night Ice Breaker Party in the McIntyre Ballroom for everyone.

Games will go throughout the night, depending on the number of teams.  The top two fundraising teams will play on the Sunday, where there is an unconfirmed guest to make an appearance.

The Timmins Rock play the Powassan Voodoos the Saturday night in NOJHL action.

Dr. Rick Kvas is putting a challenge out to mining teams, police, firefighters to take part on or off the ice.

If you would like to register, go to TADHFoundation.com or call 705-360-6039.  Registration opens October 1st.

Tickets for the Friday Night Ice Breaker will come available October 15th at Steinberg & Mahn, or the foundation office at the hospital.  Tournament participants get in free, while general public tickets are $10.
