**TIMMINS POLICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local young person with impaired driving related offences stemming from an incident that occurred early this morning on Crawford Street in South Porcupine.

While completing patrols of a residential area, a Timmins Police Service officer noted a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck being driven erratically.

The vehicle was stopped by the Timmins Police and the officer noted significant signs of impairment in regards to the driver’s physical demeanor.

The driver was arrested and taken into custody in order to complete breath tests.

As a result of the incident, a 17 year old female person from Timmins has been charged with:
– Operate Motor Vehicle While Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Operate Motor Vehicle – Concentration – Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Class G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by Licenced Driver contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
– Class G1 Licence Holder – Drive at Unlawful Hour contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
– Novice Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The accused was released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking requiring that she attend at Provincial Court in Timmins on May 25th to answer to the charges laid against her.
