**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a Highway Traffic Act infraction stemming from a motor vehicle collision which occurred yesterday afternoon on Goldmine Road.

The driver of a Toyota pickup truck had a portion of the load of furniture he was hauling break free and strike another vehicle which resulted in damage to that second vehicle.

The motor vehicle collision was investigated by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result of the investigation, Michael MCKINNON, 51, of Schumacher, has been charged with Insecure Load contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Damage to the second vehicle is determined to be minor in nature as the driver was allowed to resume driving after the investigation was completed.

The Timmins Police Service wish to remind all motorists that loads of any kind must be securely fastened in such a way that it remains intact until the intended destination is reached.

From a public safety perspective, the importance of securely fastening any load so that it remains in place for any trip, regardless of distance travelled, cannot be ignored.
