**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with an arson related offence stemming from a residential structure fire at a Lamminen Avenue address that occurred on Monday, December 9th which was deemed suspicious in nature.

Based on the findings of the investigation led by the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division, in conjunction with the Timmins Fire Department and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office, it was determined that the fire was deliberately set.

In the course of the investigation, a male suspect was identified and he was arrested earlier today based on the evidence gathered by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result of the incident, Steve BERGERON, 38, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:
– Arson – Damage to Own Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking requiring that he attend Provincial Court in Timmins on March 17th to answer to the charge laid against him.
