The availability of setlists on the internet has significantly simplified the job of music journalists, enabling us to easily look up song titles on platforms like setlist.fm when we encounter unfamiliar tracks during live shows. However, this convenience comes with a downside. Roger Daltrey of The Who has voiced his frustration, stating, “The internet’s ruined the live shows for me.”

In an interview with Billboard about his tour, Daltrey declined to discuss his upcoming setlists. “Too many people reveal songs,” he lamented. “There are no surprises left with concerts these days because everybody wants to see the setlist. I’m f*****g sick of it. The internet’s ruined the live shows for me. Who wants to know what’s coming next? People forget about surprises. I can’t stand it.”

While Daltrey didn’t specifically mention setlist.fm, it is widely regarded as the primary online hub for setlists, making it likely the source of his frustration.
