The list of legendary bands ahead of Pearl Jam isn’t very long, but this past weekend, Eddie Vedder found one of those legendary bands to jump on stage with for a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Eddie joined The Who at a private cancer benefit, for Teen Cancer America, a charity founded by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, in Los Angeles over the weekend for an acoustic performance of 1970’s “The Seeker.”

The charity concert benefited Teen Cancer America, a United States version of Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity founded by Daltrey and Pete Townshend in the UK that raised money for scanners to detect cancer in teens. Pete Townsend told the Saturday night that Daltrey had come up with the idea for Teen Cancer Trust to buy MRI units to detect spreading cancer.

Eddie Vedder continues to be awesome, joining the highest ranks of rock royalty on stage. Last month, he sang with Stevie Nicks at a festival in L.A and in August he got up on stage with The Strokes as they opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers at T-Mobile Field in Seattle. We applaud Pete & Roger for the great work their doing for youths struggling with cancer.
