**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The culmination of an intensive investigation by the Timmins Police Service – Drug Enforcement
Section has resulted in the execution of a search warrant on Wednesday August 12th at a
Commercial Avenue residence in Timmins.

Timmins Police Service – Drug Enforcement Section officers coordinated the execution of the
search warrant with the Timmins Police Service – Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.
Upon executing the Search Warrant, both the home owner and another suspect located within
were arrested and taken into police custody.

During a search of the residence, the Timmins Police located and seized the following:
1 – two tin foils each containing 0.1 gram (a point) of suspected Fentanyl.
2 – 10 Methamphetamine tablets
3 – a small plastic bag with 0.1 grams of Purp (Fentanyl).
4 – a small plastic bag with 1 gram of Crack Cocaine.
5 – 60 Hydromorphone tablets
6 – $615.00 in Canadian Currency.
7 – $2391.00 Canadian Currency (separate bundle)
8 – various mobile phones

As a result of the investigation, Jave LEWIS, age 25, of Mississauga and Gloria WESLEY, 46,
of Timmins have been charged respectively with:

– 4 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary
to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

– Possession of a Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Both persons were held in police custody for the purposes of conducting respective Bail
Hearings which took place on Thursday, August 13th at Provincial Court in Timmins.

At their bail hearing, WESLEY was released from custody on the strength of an Undertaking
compelling her to attend at Provincial Court in Timmins on October 22nd to answer to the charge
laid against her, while LEWIS remains in custody until his matters are addressed by the court.
