**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an incident that occurred early this morning in a residential neighborhood in the north – central area of the city.

While completing patrols of the residential area, a Timmins Police Service officer discovered a male suspect engaged in suspicious activity in a back alley at approximately 3:00 a.m.

The suspect was recognized by the Timmins Police Service officer as he was observed entering onto private property and approaching the rear entrance of a private residence.

Upon being discovered, the suspect fled on foot and was located after a foot pursuit ending some 4 city blocks away.
The suspect was located and arrested by the Timmins Police Service and found to be in possession of weapons and stolen property.

As a result of the incident, Evan BEAULNE, 37, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– 2 counts of Trespass by Night contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – 3 counts of Carry a Concealed Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Possess a Weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins in order to answer to the charges laid against him.
