The Timmins Rock have signed former Powassan Voodoos forward Gabby Kioki. Kioki, was born in Attawapiskat but played most of his minor hockey here in Timmins.

The North Bay Battalion drafted him in the third round 49th overall in the OHL U18 Priority Selection in 2018. Kioki is now 18 and is still looking for his shot at the OHL.

Since he was drafted, Kioki spent his time in the NOJHL and made an impact right away with the Voodoos. He managed to put up 46 points in 53 games played, 24 of those were goals. Early this season, the Voodoos moved Kioki and he ended up with the Rockland Nationals. So far this season Kioki has 16 points in 28 games played.

Now that he’s on a team like the Timmins Rock, he will definitely have more guys to feed him the puck and he could go on a tear and put up some points.

Kioki will wear number 10.
