Josh Dickson has been red hot as of late, and he has not stopped. The Rock were taking on the Rayside-Balfour Canadians last night, and most of the excitement took place in the first period.

There were 5 goals scored in total, all in the first period, and Dickson scored the eventual game winning goal with about four minutes left in the first. That goal made Dickson the new points leader on the roster, as he now has 22pts on the season. Right behind him is Rock Captain Derek Seguin who scored a power play goal in the contest, and now has 20pts on the season.

The second period was fairly quiet, a few penalties were handed out, but nothing more. Then, the third period showed up…

Just because all of the goals were scored in the first, it doesn’t mean that the game didn’t see any fireworks fly. When the final buzzer went off, saying things got heated is an understatement. At the end of the game, the Officials handed out 16 minutes worth of penalties; Four of those minutes were handed to both, Rock goaltender Ty Masternak and Canadians goaltender Cameron Lamour. They both got two minutes, each for leaving the crease. In other words, it was about to go down between the two.

Luckily nothing more came of it, and only minor penalties were handed out. The Rock pulled off a tough road win, and have extended their winning streak to four games. They will now head to Kirkland Lake to take on the Gold Miners on Saturday November 9.
