City Declares Significant Weather Event for Monday, April 8th

Due to a freezing rain overnight and a snowfall warning in the forecast today the Public Works department is declaring this storm as a Significant Weather Event, as per O Reg. 239 effective 7:00 am April 8th.

The forecast varies throughout the region with freezing rain expected to change to snow today.

Crews have been deployed to deal with icy city street and sidewalks.

Further Crews will be deployed to clean up once the extent of this storm is fully known.

The public should avoid driving in these conditions if at all possible.

A reminder that the Winter Parking Ban is effect and parking on the street is not permitted on any day, between the hours of 11:30 pm to 07:30 am, from November 1st through April 30th.
