**TIMMINS AND DISTRICT HOSPITAL NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation is pleased to receive a $25,000 grant from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund to support a mental health program for the region.

“Thank you to Bell Let’s Talk for supporting our mental health program,” said Jason Laneville, Acting Executive Director, Timmins and District Hospital Foundation. “Our hospital services a huge geographic region in and around Timmins so many people will benefit from this support.”

With the grant from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund, the mental health team at Timmins and District Hospital will develop and implement an individualized coping skills program called “Dealing with IT.” This program will allow mental health professionals to provide education and skill building for all patients admitted, with the goal of facilitating independence in coping with mental health challenges effectively upon discharge.

“Bell Let’s Talk is pleased to support the Timmins and District Hospital’s new mental  health program for people in northern Ontario, helping to improve their overall well-being,” said Mary Deacon, Chair of Bell Let’s Talk. “Having doubled the annual Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund to $2 million in 2018, we are supporting some 120 organizations across Canada, like the Timmins and District Hospital that are making a difference for those affected by mental health issues in their communities.”
