**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man stemming from a 2 vehicle collision which occurred during the late afternoon hours of Thursday, January 10th on MacLean Drive in Timmins.

The driver of one of the vehicles was interviewed at the scene by responding Timmins Police Service officers and subsequently arrested and taken into police custody in order to complete breath testing procedures.

As a result of the incident, Timothy Aaron ELLIOTT, 35, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Operate Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Mgs of Alcohol in 100 Milliliters of Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply With Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
– Vehicle Modified – Fail to Apply for New Permit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
– Fail to Notify Change of Address – Licence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
– Fail to Have Insurance Card contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

The accused was released from custody on the strength of a Promise to Appear and is required to attend Provincial Court on January 29th to answer to the charges laid against him.

The other driver, a 27 year old male resident of Timmins, sustained minor injuries in the collision.
