There is no shortage of fun to be had this weekend in Timmins. Lots of activities and events are taking place for kids, families, and holiday shoppers.

 

Santa Claus Parade

The 2018 Timmins Santa Claus Parade is coming to town this Saturday, Nov. 17th at 6 PM. The route starts on Spruce st. towards Algonquin blvd., then turns onto Pine St. and continues down Third Ave. The parade is guaranteed to bring the lights, music and spectacle of the Christmas season, all with the theme of Toyland. Along the route, prior to the parade, donations to the local food bank will be collected. Plus, Canada Post will have Walking Mailboxes going around collecting letters to Santa! So don’t miss this year’s Santa Claus Parade, happening on Saturday, Nov. 17th at 6 PM.

 

Sensitive Santa for Children with Autism

Christmas can be a busy, hectic time of year. And some kids need a little quiet time with the Big Guy. So, at Timmins Family YMCA this Saturday, Nov. 17th, kids diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder will be able to say hi and get their photo taken with Santa. From 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, bring your child to the Timmins Family YMCA and make sure they get their 15 minutes with Old Saint Nick.

 

Handmade Christmas Market

You can check some names off you gift list once you hit the Handmade Christmas Market at the McIntyre Ballroom this Saturday, Nov. 17th from 10 AM to 4 PM. There will be lots of vendors selling their handmade wares and everything else from photography to home decor, knit and sewn items, pottery, stained glass and more. The Northern Ontario Handmade Market runs all day Saturday, so come check it out at the McIntyre Community Centre Ballroom. Admission is free!

 

Hello November Market

If you don’t find everything you need at the Handmade Christmas Market on Saturday, then you can check out the Hello November Market on Sunday! Northern Markets Timmins is hosting their Hello November Market this Sunday, Nov. 18th from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Schumacher Lion’s Club. Admission is free and there will be a free draw for a mystery basket. Come support local vendors and check out their goods this Sunday at the Hello November Market.

 

Holiday Open House for Project Love

Justnatural Holistic Spa is hosting a holiday open house this Saturday, Nov. 17th, from 12 PM to 8 PM. There will be free Santa and elves photo opportunities, plus free hot chocolate and cookies. Rock Solid Wrestling Presents Legacy 2

Take a break from holiday shopping and check out the Rock Solid Wrestling show this Saturday, Nov. 17th from 8 PM to 11 PM at Ecole Secondaire Catholique Theriault. Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Night

This is the sixth year of the Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Tour in Timmins and it’s partnered with the Timmins Ski Racers and Kamiskotia Snow Resort. Taking place at Theriault Auditorium, this side-splitting comedy show features Adrian Cronk, a Just for Laugh’s comedian who’s opened for comedians like Russell Peters and Tom Green. Writing Together

The Timmins Public Library is hosting Writing Together, the Silver Leaf Guild’s “write-in” session for participants of the National Novel Writing Month Challenge. Participants can come work on their novels and meet other participants of the NaNiWriMo Challenge. Writing Together runs on Sunday Nov. 18th from 2 PM to 4 PM.

 

Youth Wellness Hub

The Youth Wellness Hub is hosting Come Brunch with Us at O’Gorman High School this Saturday, Nov 17th from 12 PM to 9 PM. Free breakfast will be available at the high school, and there will also be amazing crafts, open gym, dance and the Youth Wellness Hub’s chill space. So come enjoy this free event, a part of the Youth Wellness Hub, open to youths aged 12-25.

 

Timmins Rock

The Timmins Rock are back on home ice after being defeated by the French River Rapids last weekend at the Noelville Arena. The Rock are facing the NOJHL champions, the Cochrane Crunch tonight, Nov. 16th. The puck drops at the McIntyre Arena at 7 PM. Then, on Saturday, Nov. 17th, the Rock will face the Elliot Lake Wildcats. That game is on Saturday, Nov. 17th at 2 PM.
