**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**

Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged a local man with Assault a Peace Officer. The charges stem from a request from local hospital staff for assistance with a violent male. The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on November 3, 2018.

Three officers sustained injuries as a result of the altercation and were all treated and released.

Charged is Tristan HICKEY, 22 years-old, of Kirkland Lake Ontario with two counts Assault a Peace Officer, Resist a Peace Officer and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
