City of Timmins to Install New Four-Way Stop at Spruce and Kirby

Based on an Engineering review requested by Timmins City Council a new all way stop will be installed at the corner of Spruce Street South and Kirby.

A report was first presented to council on July 10^th, 2018 out lining the need for an all way stop and the elimination of some on street parking to improve the safety at this intersection.

At the regular meeting of Council on Tuesday Augusts 14th, 2018. Council voted unanimously to have a four-way stop at this intersection installed.  The intersection is part of a regular truck and bus route, and reported collisions per year have increased since 2014.

Installation of the new sign is set to take place on Thursday September 27^th.

Residents are being advised to approach the intersection with caution as motorists become accustomed to the new four-way stop.
