**Timmins Police Service News Release**

The Timmins Police Service’s annual “Youth in Policing” program ambassadors presented their final report to senior Timmins Police administrators this morning.
The Youth in Policing Initiative is supported by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. It is a mentoring opportunity for those young men and women who may be considering policing as a possible career.

The presentation focused on how these young, motivated, and community minded persons applied their energy towards their duties in terms of scene security at public events, assisting with Community Policing initiatives, manning of public information forums, and a host of other community oriented duties to assist Timmins Police officers.

The program has run its course for the summer of 2018.
These ambassadors proved to be self-confident and polite while continuously displaying an appreciation for being given responsibility and a keen desire to contribute to their community.

Timmins Police administrators listened intently to their “year in review” presentation given by the group members.

The Timmins Police Service continues to see this mentoring program as a valuable contribution to public service and appreciates all efforts undertaken by this group to raise the profile of their local police service and enhance community awareness and safety programs.
