**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins Police Service responded to a call for service in regards to a dispute at an east end apartment building during the late evening hours of Tuesday August 7th.

Upon arrival at the scene, Timmins Police officers located a number of persons involved in the dispute and obtained sufficient grounds to identify and arrest a suspect linked to the event
The female suspect was located a short while later.

The suspect was placed under arrest for assault by the officers and a substance suspected to be cocaine was located within the personal effects of the accused while at the police station..

Hannah HICKS, 23, of Timmins was arrested charged with:
– Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused was released from police custody on the strength of a Promise to Appear requiring that she attend Provincial Court in Timmins on September 4th to answer to the charges laid against her.
