LAFORGE

Laforge is a 4-piece punk rock band from Timmins that has been making music for over a decade.  Our lineup includes Corey McGee on Vocals/Guitar, Mitch Bergeron on Guitar/Vocals, Kevin Watson on Bass and Pat Lauzier on Drums.  We’ve written/recorded/put out 5 independent releases since 2008 and have remained active in the Timmins scene, helping build a community of which we are proud to be a part.  We played our last CD release show to a packed house at The Working Class on Boxing Day 2017, to mark the release of our new 6-song EP “High Hopes and Anecdotes”.
Our music is very much for fans of 90s/early 2000’s punk rock in the vein of Lagwagon, NOFX, Millencolin and Pulley, but we remain influenced by more contemporary bands like The Flatliners, The Menzingers and The Penske File.  Basically, we like to play loud/fast music and it sounds like loud/fast music is what you are looking for!
All of our music is available to stream at laforgerock.bandcamp.com or on Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play, and all other streaming platforms.

Wyatt Young

Travis Major and Jamie MacKay spent nearly a decade refining their tight, two man acoustic jam. Over time, the duo’s sound has evolved, incorporating a variety of genres, while still keeping a succinct sound. Key influences include early Radiohead, Thrice, Sufjan Stevens, and Fleet Foxes. After years of writing and performing, a modest acoustic demo was released in 2007, sparking interest in the local music community, and connecting Wyatt Young with some extremely talented musicians. During this time, the songwriting duo began to experiment and incorporate a myriad of different sounds and instruments into their set, but still keeping themselves at the center of the project.

By late 2009, after having the opportunity to professionally record a song for a compilation aimed at promoting local talent, the band began preparing new material to bring to the studio. After recording their first official single, the band applied for, and was rewarded, a recording grant from the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR). The “Peace be Your Eternity EP” was released in the summer of 2011. After playing a multitude of shows and festivals over the next few years, one day Travis decided to pick up the bass for a jam session and low and behold, the new 2018 album “Session 1 – Somewhere in the North” was born with Eric Benard on drums. The album was released on all platforms on May 12th, 2018.
