**TIMMINS FIRE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE**


Early Tuesday morning, around 6am, the Timmins Fire Department responded to 37 Montgomery Ave for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival Schumacher and Timmins Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the residence.

The fire was quickly extinguished. It is possible that the fire was started by smoking articles. There were no injuries to firefighters or the homeowner.

The Timmins Fire Department is a composite Fire Department that operates 7 Fire Stations; 5 Volunteer Stations, 1 Composite Station and 1 Airport Station. The Fire Department is equipped with a total of 21 pieces of apparatus, 140 Volunteers Firefighters and 34 Career Firefighters.
