An item coming to city council Tuesday pertains to the recent approval of accessible taxi licenses.

The Timmins Police Services Board is looking to pass a motion through council to have accessible taxi licenses become available so local cab companies can retrofit cabs to service those with disabilities.

They say passing this through gives Timmins a head start to be compliant with provincial law that someone with a wheelchair can use a cab by 2025.
