Turns out, Gord isn’t ready to give up on his love for music just yet.

The legendary Tragically Hip frontman just announced a new solo project. The new album is set to be released exactly one year after his award winning project Secret Path, which paid tribute to Chanie Wenjack, a 12-year-old boy who died after escaping a residential school 50 years ago.

Downie’s latest project is a 23-song double album entitled ‘Introduce Yourself’ which was recorded over two, four-day sessions this past January and February with Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew.

Gord released a statement about his new album this week, saying “This is my solo record. Each song is about a person.”
