Some hot button topics are coming up on Tuesday night’s city council agenda…and that’s not including the budget list.

A report on a proposed council committee system and a sub-committee for the Stars and Thunder Festival are both on the table.

Of note, the Stars and Thunder report prepared by CAO Dave Landers doesn’t recommend the creation of sub-committees, citing there are concerns from a transparency perspective.

Instead, it recommends more public input through social media and partnerships with community organizations to host input sessions.

When it comes to a council committee system, this was put on the agenda after council approved to have a report done on the pros and cons of switching over.

Looking at the report, it seems the recommendation is to stay status quo.

As well, a feasibility study on the Golden Manor will be discussed, along with First Nation evacuee housing.

It all gets underway at 6:00pm.
