A group of young locals are set to get politically active.

In a release, the Timmins-James Bay Young Liberals say they are sending four members to Ottawa on Friday to learn about multiple aspects of political life in the nations capital.

They’ll spend the day helping the Liberal candidate in the Ottawa-Vanier by-election Mona Fortier by canvassing door-to-door.  This will be the first time they get involved in an active campaign.

As well, the four will tour Parliament and eat dinner with MPs.

They say it will allow them to gain experience and create connections in the political world.
