The city is spending much less than originally estimated to look into issues in a west end suburb.

They’re going to be spending nearly $57-thousand dollars on a study on Wallingford Road, much lower than the $90-thousand dollars originially estimated.

The study will look at erosion and slope stability in the neighbourhood, along the shore of the Mattagami River.

Ward 1 Councillor Andre Grzela originally brought this item to council.

Back then, he said he understands the property owners should be taking on responsibility, but “processes were not in place to insure proper drainage.”

The study will be done by AMEC Foster Wheeler.
