Devastating news coming out Friday afternoon as former Alberta Premier Jim Prentice was on board a plane that crashed in British Columbia.

The Transportation Safety Board says all four people on board died.

Prenitce, originally from South Porcupine, was 60 years old.

The small plane went down Thursday night after taking off from the Kelowna airport.  The plane was en route to the Springbank airport, outside Calgary.

Prentice, also a former federal cabinet minister, quit politics last May after the Alberta NDP swept the Progressive Conservatives from power.

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus remembers Prentice well from the House of Commons, as well as each other’s roots in Timmins.

We spoke with Angus earlier today. CLICK HERE to hear what he had to say about his former colleague and long-time friend.
