Aiport Rd closed due to water main break

WATER BREAK: The water main break occurred at approximately 7am on August 16^th on a 400mm (16”) diameter main line.

REPAIR OF WATER LINE: Since the break occurred, City crews have established water control. Equipment, personnel and materials have been mobilized to site.

DURATION OF REPAIR: The water break is affecting a number of customers.  Due to the depth & the type of soils, the water main repair may take in the order of 1-2 days.  An update will be provided later in the day.

WATER QUALITY: For users who still have water but notice discolouration in the water, please let your water run until the water becomes clear. Discolouration is the result of the occurrence of the break and/or the shutting of water main shut off valves.

VEHICLE TRAFFIC: The City of Timmins Public Utility Department wishes to inform residents that Airport Road is closed Riverpark Road to Laminen Avenue.

NOTE TRUCKS:  Required take Airport Road North bound direction, and turn on Laforest Road, right on on Highway 655, to get back to Algonquin boulevard.
