The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a theft occurrence at a Park Avenue residence in Timmins which occurred during the early morning hours of Friday July 29th.

A resident discovered a suspect rummaging through his vehicle at his residence at approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning.

Two separate altercations between the victim and the suspect occurred as a result of the suspect attempting to flee the scene.

Timmins Police officers responded to the call for service and located the male suspect a short while later.

The suspect was found to be in possession of alleged stolen property from the vehicle.

As a result of their investigation, Patrick GRANDMONT, 27, of Timmins has been arrested and charged with:

  • One count of Trespass by Night contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
