Industrial Tours are being offered again this summer in Timmins. Goldcorp, Kidd Operations, Millson Forestry, WildExodus, Cedar Meadows, and Timmins Ecological Bee Association (TEBA) will host educational tours this year.
Back by popular demand, Goldcorp is once again offering free tours of their Coniaurum and Hollinger Tailings Management Area reclamation sites, along with some stops to see the Hollinger Open Pit project. Tour dates are July 6, 13, 20 & 27, as well as August 3, 10, 17, & 24.
This year Kidd Operations will be offering two free tours marking their 50th anniversary. Individuals have the choice of going underground at the Mine site, or touring the Mill site. These two tours will alternate every Friday. Mine site tour dates consist of July 8 & 22, as well as August 5 & 19. Mill site tour dates are July 15 & 29, as well as August 12 & 26.
Millson Forestry will be holding two tours this year on July 19 and August 23. These tours will consist of environmental awareness. Individuals will be given information about forest management in Ontario, how seeds are extracted, processed, tested and stored and much more!
Other notable tours happening this summer in the city of Timmins are the Cedar Meadows Wildlife Tour, TEBA Apiary Tours and WildExodus Mattagami River pontoon tours. Also, don’t forget to check out the Timmins Museum to see the Hollinger House, a home that recreates a 1930’s miner’s home.
