Timmins Police Official-Badge

There wasn’t a huge difference, but a difference nonetheless in the amount of collisions in Timmins over the course of 2015.

Timmins Police Chief John Gauthier went over the numbers during Thursday’s Police Services Board meeting.

There were 1,081 collisions in 2015, up from 1,061 in 2014.  Among them, one was fatal compared to the two in 2014.

Looking deeper into the numbers, impaired driving charges were down year-over-year (36 in 2015, 46 in 2014) and collisions involving pedestrians stayed relatively the same number (22 in 2015, up from 21 in 2014).

One other interesting tidbit is that there were 17 collisions alone at the Riverside Drive-Shirley Street intersection.

The full report (FOUND HERE) also contains numbers on drug enforcement, domestic disputes and much more.
