NCDSB logoIs this the end of Sacred Heart and St-Paul’s school in Timmins?

It could be if a new dual track (French Immersion) school is approved at an NCDSB board meeting, May 25th.  Director of Education, Glen Scheculski says this idea stems from several accommodation reviews and board working committee meetings and appears to be the right course of action.

“The board could accept our recommendations or tweak and go with another option.  It’s not an easy option because nobody wants their school to close.”

The school would be build on the existing Queen Elizabeth School site and combine students from Sacred Heart and St Paul’s School.  But Scheculski says there’s always a chance it doesn’t get approved and with go with plan B.

“We would go full time kindergarten to grade 4 at St-Paul’s School, dual track and grade 5 through 8 dual track at O’Gorman Intermediate.”
