CN Rail has some unfinished business to take care of in Gogama.

Jim Feeny with CN Rail says they’ve made great progress over the last year in cleaning up the train derailment site after the March 7, 2015 incident.  From sampling water quality, to assessing other environmental damage, Feeny gives this update.

He says work to clean that up will begin when the weather cooperates, and will be followed by remediation work to restore the area completely.

CN also has a website open for communicating the progress of this clean-up effort.

Feeny doesn’t offer a timeline on when all the work will be done, saying “monitoring and testing and evaluation will continue for quite some time, as long as necessary.”
