timmins hospitalEverything is back to normal at Timmins and District Hospital after a couple virus outbreaks.

Restrictions were put in place in early September to combat the spread of Vancomycin Resistant Enterococci (VRE) and/or Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) outbreak on their Medical C unit.

In a release, TDH’s Infection Control Coordinator Jodie Russell says “given the holiday season, we will be lifting the visiting restrictions that were in place as part of the outbreak and returning to normal visitation.”

“We are still asking all visitors to the Hospital to wash their hands upon entering and leaving a patient’s room and the Hospital. We thank the public for their patience, understanding and co-operation during the outbreak.”
