Golden Manor looking for budget increase

Officials at the Golden Manor could be looking at more money from the city.

Administrator Heather Bozzer says their budget is asking for just over $500-thousand to help offset lower revenues and salary and benefit increases.

Bozzer says they only control nine per cent of the budget.  84% is salary and benefits while the rest is for utilities (4%) and food (3%).

Councillor Mike Doody, who also heads the Golden Manor board, says funding is crucial for a place that houses around 180 people.  The staggering stat on that is around 1/3 of those people suffer from a form of dementia.
