After an NHL career that spanned over 1,000 games with several teams, the “Timmins Tornado” Steve Sullivan had his number retired here at home before the Timmins Rock took on the Soo Eagles Sunday afternoon.

Sullivan is the senior advisor to the Rock, while also working as the Player Development Coach for the Arizona Coyotes in the NHL.

Sullivan stuck around after the game to sign autographs, along with players from the Rock and head coach Paul Gagne, a former NHLer in his own right.

Taking part in the opening ceremony was Rock President Scott Marshall, NOJHL Commissioner Robert Mazucca and Timmins Mayor Steve Black.
